Helping Hands Therapy Services, PLLC is a small, privately owned company providing pediatric physical, occupational, and speech therapy services in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Suffolk. We recently just celebrated our 11 year anniversary! We have expanded our services in Hampton Roads and want to continue to reach the entire Hampton Roads area. We have an outpatient clinic in Chesapeake, Virginia, near Chesapeake General Hospital, as well as a new clinic in Virginia Beach, in the Haygood area, where we are providing a variety of holistic outpatient therapy services. Our clinic continues to grow and we have a need to hire additional administrative support staff.

The Patient Scheduler/Front Desk Team Member will be responsible for assisting in the processing of intake referrals for our outpatient and early Intervention clients from various city programs. This entails receiving the referrals, verifying benefits, obtaining insurance authorization and physical signature and certification. In addition, the Team Member will be responsible for ensuring that the children referred are assigned to the appropriate discipline and therapist within a reasonable timeframe. This position can be part time or full time, there may also be an option to for flex hours to work from home a portion of the hours.

The Patient Scheduler/Front Desk Team Member will also responsible for loading demographic information into the EMR and extracting documentation as needed into the local systems EHR.

This position will likely be split between our two clinics (Virginia Beach and Chesapeake).

Reports to Practice Manager and EI office manager.

Experience, Education and Training Minimum: High school graduate or GED with 3 - 5 years of healtcare/medical related experience required. Must have experience in medical terminology and insurance authorization/verification. Data entry experience is required. Medical Billing and Coding experience is Preferred.

Additional Skills: Ability to relate with the public and coordinate insurance and referral processes. Ability to effectively gather and exchange information in both oral and written communications with proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetical or numeric systems. Knowledge of medical terminology and computer data entry skills required. Knowledge of third party payer referral and insurance verification processes. Previous experience in physical/occupational/speech therapy insurance billing preferred but not required.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
