Summary:
Goldbelt C6 is looking for a Network Engineer to provide support for development and engineering of the VTS network and its interconnected systems to include configuring, optimizing, and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls and associated network equipment; including CISCO operating system, IGRP/EIGRP and OSPF routing protocols, configuration files, firmware, software, and hardware.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Furuno and TERMA radar equipment per CG specification.
- Provide Tier 2 expertise on complex installations, participate in adaptive maintenance installations, participate in engineering and regression testing, develop test plans, and provide corrective action and recommendations for system improvement.
- Draft, review and edit assigned system documentation that includes cost and risk analyses, site surveys, property inventory, technical drawings, implementation plans, test plans and configuration settings Climbing Towers.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledgeable in industry-standard LAN/WAN policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of how network security is implemented in the Coast Guard.
- Working knowledge of network administrative tools. Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to perform and report network analysis and corrective action/recommendations to the project lead.
- Analysis includes network performance statistics, congestion issues, bandwidth utilization, errors, and reliability; documented in a network report that includes a summary of findings and recommendations for resolution Experience loading, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Terma and Furuno radar systems.
- Experience loading, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining SSR Engineering products Desired Skills/
- Experience: Be knowledgeable with industry standard LAN and WAN policies and procedures.
- Experience networking the following types of devices or similar devices: SSR Engineering system TERMA radar Furuno radar Zetron VHF controller RedBox digital VHF communications recorder DvTel Digital Video Controller Cambium Microwave system CISCO routers and switches AIS base stations INVS system PAWSS devices CG Privileged User Management Program (PUMP) qualified.
Minimum Qualifications:
- CISCO Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) in Security or Routing and Switching with 5 years of experience as a network engineer .
- Certified at the IAT Level II or higher. Certified in Network+ and Security+
- Must be capable of holding a SECRET security clearance.
