Infrequent travel (i.e., annually) for activities such as job skills training or participating in institutional and client meetings and conferences.
- Provides outreach and technical assistance to public water systems about requirements of and compliance with TCEQ revised Lead and Copper rules.
- Identifies PWSs in need of TCEQ financial, managerial, and technical (FMT) assistance and makes appropriate referrals.
- Tracks and reports outreach activities and outcomes to management.
- Assists the Lead and Copper Monitoring Team with reviewing and evaluating data and creating/reviewing/revising documents such as reports, correspondence, and standard operating procedures
- Performs other duties assigned
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year experience in customer service or sales; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Experience communicating with the public about technical rules and regulations, public water systems and basis of corrosion control; and tracking outreach activities and outcomes.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word and Excel; database entry; ability to learn TCEQ 30 TAC Chapter 290 rules related to lead and copper, including basis of corrosion control and TCEQ’s databases.
- Skill in organization; attention to details; supervising the work of others; reviewing and analyzing records; determining proper courses of action; and managing time and assignments to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with clients, customers, coworkers to gather information and/or explain policies and procedures.
- Integrate complex concepts, procedures, and processes; exercise independent judgement and initiative with minimal supervision; mentor and train new staff as needed.
- Ability to draft routine correspondence, reports, documents, policy, procedures, case narratives, or prepare other lengthy documents via handwritten or use of technology.
- Perform visual activities requiring prolonged attention to detail such as editing and proofreading.
- Ability to hear and understand speech and interact with coworkers/clients/customers on a routine basis.
- Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
