Summary:

Seagen is seeking a high-performing Associate to join our MSAT Labs and Innovation team in Bothell, WA. In this role, the primary responsibility will be laboratory maintenance and experimental execution related to internal manufacturing and technical innovation. The ideal candidate will have some exposure to common mammalian upstream unit operations or purification unit operations. This is an exciting opportunity where this role will support projects, troubleshoot technical challenges, and apply new, innovative technologies to manufacturing. The incumbent will work in a highly collaborative environment requiring attention to detail, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn. The final level of this position will be based on the candidate’s qualifications

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory management (maintaining and cleaning equipment, analytical instrument maintenance, ordering and stocking supplies)
  • Supporting or leading global manufacturing studies (technical transfer and troubleshooting) or technology development:
    • Mammalian cell culture, purification, and conjugation
    • Buffer and media preparation
  • Participate in new raw materials and technology evaluations
  • Protein degradation and cleanability experimentation and analysis
  • Maintain meticulous laboratory records, electronic files, and laboratory notebooks to support experimental studies
  • Data analysis with guidance, summarize and present experimental findings in team meetings
  • Manufacturing sample coordination and data verification

Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in laboratory or manufacturing setting
  • Exceptional aseptic technique desired
  • Experience in either purification or cell culture operations desired
  • Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • The ability to multitask and think critically and creatively
  • A willingness to learn and contribute to team goals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Applicant must be willing and able to work on a flexible schedule (some weekends)

Education:

  • B.S. degree in biology, engineering, biochemistry, or related discipline

The hiring pay range for this position is $78,000 to $101,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
