Westmark Credit Union is expanding our Real Estate Department! We are looking for experienced mortgage loan officers to join our team and contribute to the overall success of the credit union for the Pocatello and Blackfoot area. This is a full time position under limited supervision and requires extensive time out of the office contacting realtors and members. Pay includes base salary plus commission.


Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

  • Interview Real Estate loan applicants, take final financial statements and secure credit reports
  • Backup Manager in reviewing daily MortgageBot applications
  • Provide weekly updates to members and realtors regarding status of application
  • Submit loans to Department Underwriter for final approval
  • Ensure compliance with FNMA underwriting guidelines in the application process
  • Make marketing presentations to realtors
  • Perform any and all duties assigned by the VP of RE Administration or VP/RE Manager

  • Is able to interact with members and co-workers professionally and with integrity
  • Shows a positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Maintains a reliable attendance record and takes responsibility for their own actions
  • Represents Westmark, both during and after work hours, in a courteous, professional manner

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of Westmarks lending policies and procedures and credit underwriting standards for Fannie Mae, FHA, VA and IHFA
  • Working knowledge of HP-12C and Point software
  • Mathematical skills commensurate with lending needs
  • Ability to analyze federal tax returns
  • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a financially related field with training and applicable experience in mortgage lending; or a high school diploma with a minimum of two years of mortgage lending experience; or a combination of formal education, training and applicable experience
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner
  • Current established relationships with realtors in the market area
  • Ability to maintain trustworthy relationships with members and co-workers
