MOLECULAR LABORATORY SUPERVISOR

MONDAY - FRIDAY 11AM-7:30PM

LOCATED ABOUT 15 MINUTES NORTHWEST OF CHICAGO, IL

Strong experience in Molecular Diagnostics – Candidate MUST specialize in thisNGS
DNA/RNA
Extractions
Thermo Fisher and Illumina equipment

Validation experience. They perform new in-house testing and training.
Candidate MUST be well versed in validation

• Team size of lab is 35 FTE’s

Candidate will have the following Direct Reports:11 Technologists
2 Technical Specialists
2 Lab Asst

• The volume of the lab is 65k/annually – That number is growing

• Collateral Duties

Qualifications :

• Baccalaureate degree in laboratory science.
• Professional certification by one or more of the following: American Society of Clinical Pathologists, National Certification Agency for Medical Laboratory Scientists or equivalent.
• Previous experience in Molecular Pathology.
• Previous supervisory experience highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :

• Position involves moderate and/or high complexity testing as defined by CLIA '88.
• Minimum five (05) years laboratory-related experience.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills including, but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail use.
• Thorough knowledge of statistics and ability to apply statistical rules/analysis to laboratory decision-making processes.
• Proven ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $96,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year

Education:

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• Supervising experience: 3 years (Required)
• STRONG MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS: 3 years (Required)
• NGS, DNA/RNA & EXTRACTIONS: 2 years (Required)
• STRONG VALIDATION: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• ASCP Certification (Required)

Shift availability:

• Night Shift (Required)
