Tufts Medical Center is an internationally respected academic medical center and we pride ourselves not only on the sophistication of the care we deliver, but the compassionate way in which we provide it. And that starts with our employees.

The Cardiomyopathy Center (CMC) is a 16 bed intermediate care unit specializing in the care of patients with advanced heart failure. This unit is comprised of both medical and surgical patients receiving inotropic support and diuresis, often requiring hemodynamic monitoring through a pulmonary artery catheter (PA catheter). Many of our patients are also being evaluated for heart transplants and ventricular assist device (VAD) surgery. The CMC also cares for the patients at Tufts Medical Center that are post-heart transplant and post-VAD surgery. Patients following surgery often have PA catheters, epicardial pacing wires, chest tubes.

The Mobility tech works under the supervision of the professional nurse and collaborates with rehabilitation professionals to meet the needs of the patient within the scope of the role. The Mobility technician will independently provide, or assist in direct patient care to safety mobilize patients in the inpatient hospital setting The patients are identified by nursing and physical therapy for mobilization and are either assisted out of bed or ambulated to prevent weakening and improve health outcomes during their hospital stay. The Mobility technician will successfully complete and maintain competencies in role specific skills. The Mobility technician provides an environment supportive of the patient and family centered model of care.
