Responsibilities:
Ready to make an impact? Peraton has an exciting opportunity for a highly adaptable, self-starting Mid-level Systems Integration and Test Engineer with experience in satellite ground station operations. You will work with the Peraton System Engineering team and Satellite deployment teams to integrate applications and capabilities into ground station operations in Suitland, MD.


This is an opportunity to work on a cutting-edge technology program responsible for flying the latest series of NOAA’s Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) weather satellites and distributing critical weather data to the North American continent. NOAA’s GOES system provides imagery, atmospheric measurements, and space environment monitoring over the Western Hemisphere


The Mid-level Systems Integration and Test Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:
  • Performing system level software integration and test (I&T) activities for Satellite Ground Station Command and Control applications ensuring system compatibility to meet program technical, schedule and cost objectives. This includes the test and integration of COTS-based systems from the system design phase through development, documentation, installation and commissioning of the completed system.
  • Generation of complex test procedures for the validation and verification of software components written in Java and C and to analyze requirements for integration and/or testability issues.
  • Develop and implement software system level test programs, plans, specifications, procedures and customer acceptance.
  • Able to plan, support and lead test readiness reviews, formal system verification of the system requirements and final test reports.
  • Recognizes and adopts best practices in documentation, testing and efficient use of resources.
  • Utilizes basic administration and configuration of RedHat Enterprise Linux in order to resolve configuration issues and integrate Red Hat Linux systems.
**Support will be provided on-site with flexibility for occasional telework. Must be local to work location**

**10% travel may be required based on customer needs**
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance. In order to obtain a US Security Clearance, you must be a US Citizen
  • Bachelor's Degree and five (5+) years of experience, or Masters Degree and three (3+) years of experience, or PhD and no years of experience, or nine (9+) years of applicable experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with software development methodologies and life-cycles; specifications and testing
  • Experience with automated testing tools, developing tests scripts using Java and C
  • Experience with RedHat Linux with the ability to administer the configuration and lab set-up, providing solutions for issues or integrated lab efficiencies
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in developing tests scripts using Perl and T&C Control Languages
  • Experience in Satellite Ground Station – Command and Control applications and software integration and troubleshooting experience of complex, multi-application systems, as well as Satellite Mission Planning Software
  • Certified RedHat Linux System Administrator or RedHat Linux Engineer
  • Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)
  • Communicates effectively with management, peers and customer
  • Displays excellent teamwork skills with the ability to lead a team in a test lab environment
