Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Service Group on the West Coast is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for our Emeryville, CA, San Luis Obispo, CA, Kennewick, WA, Ft. Worth, TX, or Phoenix, AZ offices or possibly Corona, CA. This position is LTLB and can be remote for the right individual
Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)
- Understanding roles played by other disciplines on the project and possessing the ability to coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines.
- Participating in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors.
- Preparing design studies, project scopes and engineering estimates.
- Managing budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight.
- Preparing electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications and can evaluate technical bids and select equipment.
- Devising new approaches to technical problems.
- Traveling and participating in field installation, checkout, and start-up.
- Directing and overseeing routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintaining quality standards of all assigned projects.
Required Qualifications / skills
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 6 years of power system design experience in the Nuclear Industry
- Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of structural calculations is desired
- Knowledge of discipline-specific computer analysis codes as well as standard office production software
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Familiar with the International Building code and building code design
- Good writing, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
- Familiar with concrete and steel design codes and with working stress and ultimate strength design approaches
Employment requirement
Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies.
Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
