PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Responsible for interaction and communication with Community Solar Energy Generating System (CSEGS) operators in the electric marketplace. Manages daily operations associated with Baltimore Gas & Electric's (BGE) Community Solar Program including on-boarding of community solar subscriber organizations, net metering, Community Solar Bill Credits (CSBC), energy settlement, customer billing and EDI (electronic data interchange) functions. Note: Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Guide and direct operations activities of Community Solar team in the areas of on-boarding, net metering, energy settlement, Community Solar Bill Credits (CSBC), customer billing and EDI functions.

  • Responds to inquiries by subscriber organizations and customers concerning Community Solar issues including on-boarding, net metering, energy settlement, Community Solar Bill Credits (CSBC), customer billing and EDI functions. Manages issues to resolution. Responsible for dispute resolution, marketplace tracking, and communications.

  • Promotes safety, diversity and engages employees in an environment that fosters open communication and high performance. Fosters development and coaching for employees and provides timely feedback regarding group and individual performance.

  • Represents Exelon/BGE in external relations with Community Solar Subscriber Organizations, state regulators, consumer and environmental advocates, and the PJM regional transmission organization. Interfaces with several Exelon internal departments such as Legal, Regulatory, Customer and Marketing Services, Exelon Generation, and Transmission Operations.

  • Directs the management of Community Solar agreements including collateral requirements between BGE and Community Solar Subscriber Organizations. Responsible for Community Solar registration process.


JOB SCOPE

  • Primarily responsible for Community Solar program and team at BGE. Responsible for administering Community Solar program at BGE through the management of business processes and systems for Community Solar interaction. Must champion changes to internal processes and systems as the Community Solar landscape changes and evolves. Manages resolution of Community Solar inquiries and disputes with BGE Community Solar processes including on-boarding of community solar subscriber organizations, net metering, Community Solar Bill Credits (CSBC), energy settlement, customer billing and EDI (electronic data interchange) functions.

  • Serve as Project Owner for the IT project to enable utility consolidated billing (UCB) for the Community Solar program.

  • Interfaces with external groups such as Public Service Commission staff, Office of Consumer Advocate staff, and PJM ISO representatives. Actively promotes customer satisfaction and employee engagement activities. Provide performance feedback to employees and provide input to Sr. Mgr. for final performance ratings and resulting AIP adjustments.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field and a minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience, or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience.

  • Significant knowledge of processes and functions of the wholesale energy market.

  • Significant experience in wholesale energy markets, including transmission and retail electric and gas operations.

  • Knowledge of regulatory and strategic issues associated with electric utility industry restructuring and specifically PECO's retail choice functions and processes.

  • Strong preference for technical background, financial aptitude, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills.

  • Specialized skills in negotiating, leadership, planning and decision making. Proven skills in managing change, influencing regulatory rulemakings and implementing new technologies.

  • Demonstrated competency in Exelon leadership fundamentals: safety, passion, stretch, focused actionable planning, ownership& accountability, leadership engagement, communication, personnel development, employee involvement, diversity, standardization, continuous improvement and celebration.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • An advanced degree is preferred.

  • PJM specific experience preferred.

  • Understanding of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
