Simko Industrial Fabricators is one of the Midwest's leading industrial fabricators since 1965 located in Hammond. We now are currently seeking a candidate to fill our staff. Status: Full Time

• Valid driver license throughout the tenure of employment.
• Able to multi-task.
• Maintaining a safe and clean worksite.
• General mathematics.
• Distribute material, equipment, tools, parts, etc. as needed per job.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools ie. grinders, die grinders, belt sander, measuring instruments, compass, framing square, combination square etc.
• Basic fabrication layout, soapstone work, angles, degrees, miters, coping, crop cuts, bending etc.
• Basic knowledge of steel material. (i.e. beam, channel, tube, angle, bar, round, pipe, etc.)
• Basic oxy fuel cutting activities.
• Operation of threading machines.
• Perform heavy grinding / beveling activities.
• Basic Piranha Iron Worker knowledge including setup, operation, capabilities and safety
• Basic knowledge of vertical production saw setup, operation and safety to assist in saw production cutting
• Basic knowledge of cold saw setup, operation and safety including precision cut miters
• Basic knowledge of plasma table setup, operation and safety
• Basic knowledge of beamline "Ocean Avenger" setup, operation and safety
• Basic knowledge of mag-drill setup, operation and safety
• Basic understanding of shop production including loading / offloading of material.
• Safe operation and use of overhead cranes, jib cranes
• Basic rigging and safe handling of material including calculating proper rigging and devices to be used.
• Safe operation of forklifts
• Proper preventative maintenance of all machines used
• Basic problem solving skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
