CLASSIFICATION Year-round; Full-time; Exempt
REPORTS TO National Development Director
LOCATION Park City, UT
TRAVEL Required, as necessary
ANNUAL BONUS POTENTIAL 6%

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Men’s NorAm Team Head Coach is responsible for advancing U.S. Ski Team D-Team athletes and invited National Development Group (NDG) members in the national pipeline. The position works closely with other U.S. Ski Team staff, U.S. Ski & Snowboard Development staff, and domestic club coaches to drive a program for domestic-based elite athletes to continue their athletic development. Annual performance targets include top-10 results at the NorAm Cup and World Junior Championships, and C-Team advancement. Reports to the National Development Director.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Athlete Experience
- Develop, manage, and coach full-time athletes to their highest potential and advance them within the U.S. Ski Team pipeline
- Lead select National Development projects when possible within the established annual plan.
- Maintain regular communication about programming with emerging club athletes and their coaches
- Plan and manage athletic projects according to the annual plan
- Assist in the education and development of professional coaches through targeted project exposures
Operational Excellence
- Responsive communication via email, phone, and text with staff, coaches, athletes, and parents
- Positive and inclusive outward-facing demeanor as the gateway coach to the National Team
- Work proactively with Alpine Development staff and all departments of U.S. Ski & Snowboard
- Proper maintenance of equipment, including rental vehicles, training equipment, radios, and video
Financial Performance
- Collect any program and project participation fees beforehand and manage all projects within budget
- Submit timely expense reports and reconcile each project upon completion
- Work with the National Development Director to stay within established budget

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
- College degree required
- U.S. Ski & Snowboard Level 200 coaches certification required
- Evidence of management, accounting, communication, and organization skills required
- Demonstrated technical coaching knowledge and proven ability to advance athletes required
- Team player who demonstrates loyalty to the organization and the whole athletic program required
- Computer skills, including video analysis, email, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software required
- Experience coaching at multiple levels: international, domestic FIS, and club levels preferred
- PSIA certification preferred
- U.S. Ski & Snowboard Referee Level 2 officials’ certification preferred
