Position: Medical Records Specialist
Scope of position: The Medical Records Specialist is responsible for conducting outreach initiatives to providers to schedule field visit or other transmittal methodology for the retrieval of medical records. The Specialist scans and uploads medical charts from Physician Practices and Facilities for the Medicare and commercial lines of business for the purpose of medical risk optimization, Star Rating and HEDIS review.
Essential Job Functions:
- Travels to multiple medical facilities and evaluate different types of Electronic Medical Records Systems available, exercise judgment, discretion and decide on the best modality to retrieve various portions of medical records as required by the line of business and intended review.
- Uploads faxed and mailed document into the secure drive. Use Microsoft Office SQL applications, Adobe Professional software, and high-speed production scanners to convert hard copy documents into an electronic PDF format and upload to a secure AvMed server.
- Coordinates chart retrievals with Physician/ Vendors. Follows up as needed to ensure retrieval completeness. Electronically download retrieved charts to the laptop or to secure data storage devices.
- Retrieves daily tasks from Scheduling application and organize them based on office locations, appointment times and volume of charts to ensure accurate completion of physician appointments.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

You have:
- High Diploma required.
- Associates, Business Administration or other related degree
- 0-2 years of experience Clinical Experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Must have a valid driver license.
