Medical Receptionist/Front Desk Job Summary:

Busy Otolaryngology (ENT) office is in need of a talented Medical Receptionist/Front Desk at our Chesapeake ENT division. This is a front desk position that requires excellent customer care and attention to detail.

This position requires travel between 2 locations at a minimum. Owings Mills, Rosedale, Columbia, or Westminster. The hours of work are varied Monday through Friday, but between business hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM in 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. No weekends.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Register and check out patients.
  
• Schedule appointments.
• Assist patients with insurance papers and billing questions.
  
• Maintain reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
• Prepare a daily schedule of examinations for each provider.
• Answer multi-line phone.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Preferred 1-year medical front desk/receptionist experience.
• Basic office skills such as typing and filing.
  
• Good organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill, older, or distraught patients.

Education and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a certified medical office training course preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
