Medical Physicist o pening with a 100+ bed hospital in Western, Idaho
Onsite position - $10,000 Sign-on Bonus & Relocation Assistance Available

Hospital is the largest full-service medical center between Boise and Spokane. It's located along the Snake River, 100 miles northeast of Walla Walla, WA and 100 miles south of Spokane, WA and 115 miles south of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Job Summary - Run the clinic's physics need at this rural community clinic. You'll perform duties pertaining to treatment machine calibration, dosimetry, treatment planning, and monitoring of radiation received by employees. Assist with simulation of patients and teaching therapists in areas of dosimetry and computer planning and supervises the Medical Dosimetrist. Department: Physicists – 1 (retiring, going PRN for vac coverage); Radiation Oncology -1; Dosimetrists – 1 on site, .8 remote dosimetrist also being utilized at this time and Radiation Therapist – 3 (adding a 4th therapist).

Treatment Planning: currently on Pinnacle, but getting new Elekta Linac in January and tx planning system changing to Monaco

Record/Verify system: Rad Calc current QA system, Mosaiq is EMR system

Type of procedures: IMRT, SBRT, VMAT will start with new Linac, 3D. Does not do brachytherapy

2 Elekta Synergies; getting a new Elekta Versa and will decommission the older Synergy

Average is about 35 patients on treatment but anticipate this will increase to 40-45 once we have the new Linac

You'll need to qualify : Be able to run the department as the Solo Physicist; ABR certification preferred and must have radiation oncology experience
