Position Summary:
Under limited supervision, participates in the administration and delivery of various psychological services to medical patients including assessment, consultation, and intervention. Provides direct patient care through interview of patient and their families/caregivers; administration, scoring and interpretation of psychological measures, development of intervention plan, and implementation of this plan with the patient and family/caregivers. Reviews medical, educational and psychological information to form behavioral and cognitive interventions. Provides verbal and written consultation to referring physicians and other clinical staff on behalf of their patients. Develops and maintains educational programs for patients with neurological disorders including but not limited to stroke, epilepsy, brain injury, pain secondary to neurological disorders, multiple sclerosis, dementia and pseudo tumor cerebri. Participates in a clinical training program for pre and post doctoral students in neuropsychology and psychology.

Patient Care:
Conducts psychological assessment of medical patient's psychological and behavioral needs. Develops and implements intervention plan.

Qualifications/Requirements :
Seasoned professional knowledge; equivalent to a Master's degree; knowledge in more than one discipline.
Experience: 1-3 years

Additional Comments:
APA Approved internship required. At least one year of postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology or two years of postdoctoral fellowship with 50% training in Clinical Health Psychology. Alternatively, two years of postdoctoral experience with an emphasis in Rehabilitation Psychology, or one year of pre- and one year of post-doctoral supervised experience in Rehabilitation Psychology is acceptable with experience in target patient population of epilepsy, stroke, head injury, and chronic pain. Within five years of commencing at BSI, psychologist will be boarded with the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Education Discipline: Doctorate of Psychology; minimum requirement of 2 years supervised experience and successful passing of state licensing exam.

Maryland licensure in Clinical Psychology.
