Three Rivers Spine & Pain Medicine is an interventional pain management clinic. The primary focus of the clinic is performing spinal procedures necessary in the treatment of spinal diseases and pain related ailments. Because the clinic is procedural based, the job opening is for a medical Insurance Authorization Specialist to:

• PRIMARY JOB: Obtain necessary insurance authorization for spinal procedures and advanced imaging studies through the submission of medical records, images, and phone conversations with insurers.

• Responsible for timely verification of medical insurance benefits, calling private insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid to obtain benefit information, determining insurance compatibility with health care provider. Maintains current knowledge of and adheres to payer and regulatory guidelines for medical insurance claims processing and reimbursement.

• Prepares and submits pre-certification/authorization requests as needed based on insurance requirements.

• Contacts patients to review their financial obligations.

• EHR documentation of correspondence with the patient/family, doctors office or insurance company.

• Uploads medical documents into patient accounts

• Scheduling new patients

• Occasional cross coverage of clinical duties such as rooming patients, collecting urine specimen for lab, charting and maintenance of EHR, and front desk duties.

The successful candidate MUST have prior knowledge with clinical medicine, insurance companies, medication authorizations, CPT codes, ICD codes, EMR systems.
Work schedule is M-Th 7AM to 5PM

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
