Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy - (Full-time, Day Shift) -

The Medical Assistant (MA)-Wound Care provides and documents care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), ensuring a safe, comfortable, and confidential environment. Completes order and data entry into the electronic medical record (EMR) as applicable. Records and calculates all necessary parameters (i.e. patient intake and output, vital signs) as appropriate. Assists in the implementation of established treatment plans using advanced healing techniques such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy and is trained in the use of wound dressing materials with the scope of practice. Participates in patient education and demonstrates techniques to patients and caregivers enabling proper care at home. Acts as a member of the health care team to ensure appropriate resources to all internal and external customers; maintains secure and trusting environment, ensuring the customer’s right to privacy and dignity. Performs other duties as needed.
Graduate of a medical assistant program. Minimum six months of experience as a Medical Assistant in area of specialty or appropriate equivalent preferred.
Ability to answer telephones; data entry, proofread, and retrieval via Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Use diagnostic equipment for telemetry monitoring. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate and troubleshoot basic office and patient care equipment required for the position; perform required patient care activities related to the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required. Medical Assistant diploma or certification preferred.
