Title: Medical Assistant - NHMP Danbury Gastroenterology, Danbury CT- 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts 8:30am - 5:00pm.

• Must have experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician*

The Gastroenterology Medical Practice office located in Danbury is recruiting for a Medical Office MA to provide care to our valued patients and work with our talented nurses, physicians and APP’s. Summary:
A Medical Assistant (MA) may be required to perform any or all of the following fundamentals: documentation, administrative, clinical, and department support functions.

Responsibilities:
1. Performs initial intake of patient, up to and including: Interviews patient and family to obtain chief complaint/reason for visit, vital signs, and allergy information.

2. Provides cross coverage for other administrative roles that support patient check-out process and scheduling appointments

3.

Accurately records and/or updates relevant patient information.

4.

Performs the administrative functions of the patient prescription renewal process in accordance to policy.

5.

Maintains clinical files according to organizational/department protocol.

6.

Cleans and stocks patient care rooms between patients.

7.

Utilizes equipment appropriately and notifies Leadership in a timely fashion of equipment/facility break-down or damage.

8.

Accurately documents patient information on appropriate forms. Demonstrates accuracy in basic entry and data retrieval of paper/electronic patient records.

9. Performs other duties as may be assigned to promote the health, safety and comfort of Nuvance Health patients and families.

10.

Ability to travel to satellite locations may be required.

11.

Demonstrates an awareness of safety needs and a basic knowledge of medical terminology, infection control, risk management and environmental of care policies.

12.

Demonstrates support for the mission, values and goals of the organization.

13. Performs other duties as required.

Other information:
Required:
High School diploma or GED.New graduate of Medical Assistant program, or Nursing Assistant training program, or EMT certification, or 3 years job related experience in a medical office. Basic medical knowledge and terminology. Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs.

Minimum Experience: one year

Desired: CPR certification preferred. Bi-lingual preferred

Salary Range:
$15.3000 - $28.2200 Hourly
