Job description

Full-time Medical Assistant (MA) needed in a high paced and fast-growing Orthopedic practice. Our offices are located in Plantation, Coral Springs, Deerfield Beach, and Boca Raton.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated medical assistant. The MA will be responsible for back-office duties such as taking patients' vitals, rooming patients, taking their medical history, and also assisting in minor procedures.

Criteria:

• Graduated from an accredited program or relevant experience
• At least one year of medical assistance experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities :

• Sterilize equipment before and after treatment and properly dispose of used containers and items to avoid infection.
• Prepare patients for examination by escorting them to the treatment room.
• Record medical histories and vital signs of patients by carrying out a proper checkup on them before consultation with the physician.
• Assist physician during examination/treatment.
• Make sure test results are available to the doctor before he attends to patients.
• Explain medication instruction to patients based on the orthopedic’s prescription and advice them on special diets to fasten their recovery.
• Create and fill patients’ charts with relevant and current information about their health condition. Update their chart with any changes and progress in patients’ health.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
