Position Description:
The Medical Assistant - Certified will be responsible for coordinating daily tasks and will provide a courteous and seamless experience for patients that are being seen in the Civil Surgeon Clinic. The Medical Assistant - Certified serves as a critical member of the patient care team as it provides initial in-person or telephone consults for Civil Surgeon Clinic patients, gathering key pieces of information and providing initial recommendations. The Medical Assistant - Certified will obtain vital signs, prepare and document information in the chart, and assist providers during exams. This position will process and reconcile all patient payment and billing tasks for the clinic, as well as update patient medical records in EPIC, which includes documents showing vaccine history and visit activities. The Medical Assistant - Certified will also perform or order necessary procedures (EKGs, urinalysis, injections, throat swabs, etc.). This role will also assist in scheduling appointments, obtaining pre-authorizations, referrals, and patient follow-up.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
1.)���� Facilitate patient flow for Civil Surgeon Clinic including registration, scheduling and follow-up, and documenting patient information in health records.
2.)���� Provide initial consultation to program patients in-person or over the phone based on patient need, patient status, and update patient medical and vaccine record.
3.)���� Coordinate all patient billing, create invoices, collect payment, and batch out daily credit card and cash payments for services rendered at the Civil Surgeon Clinic.
4.)���� Greet and escort patients to exam room, obtain vitals, perform phlebotomy, and assist providers during exams.
5.)���� Perform or order procedure (EKGs, injections, throat swabs) to obtain specimens for testing.
6.)���� Prepare necessary paperwork verifying Civil Surgeon exam.
7.)���� Review medical history and immunization records.
8.)� ���Stock exam rooms and organize supplies.
9.)�����Other duties as assigned.
Target Compensation Maximum:
$21.26
Target Compensation Minimum:
$12.54
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
