An incredible clinical/administrative full-time opportunity for an applicant who is exploring a career in medicine or currently looking to apply to medical school or an advanced clinical program and desires extraordinary on-the-job, extensive medical experience. You will be supporting private practice physicians in unique multi-specialty offices in San Francisco, and our East Bay location in San Ramon. Both offices are well-established locations. They currently include highly credentialed Gynecologic & General Robotic Surgeons, a Physician Assistant, and a Naturopath. The position will be primarily based in San Ramon but will require traveling to San Francisco 1-2 days per week.

· Cultivate a safe, secure, and healthy environment for patients and colleagues, and to enhance quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s)

· Understand provider-to-patient flow to assist physicians in maintaining an efficient, productive office

· Create and maintain relationships of confidence and trust with new and existing patients and physicians

· Help answer patient questions and address concerns before, during, and after examinations

· Maintain/update accurate and secure electronic patient medical records

· Responsibilities

· Maintain a clean, sanitary office, including the preparation of examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to each appointment.

· Accompany patients to examination or treatment room, interview patients, measure vital signs, update patient information and changes in medical history, prepare patient for examination and/or treatment, and scribe for the physician during the appointment.

· Maintain patient records for clinical use, medical records use, billing use, physicians review, etc., and assist in the transition from hardcopy to digital formatting.

· Perform basic lab tests, obtain prior authorizations for procedures, follow up on labs and diagnostic imaging ordered by physician and communicate with providers regarding patient care both verbally and through the EMR.

· Keep medical supplies well-stocked, placing orders for materials when necessary.

· Maintain accurate scheduling databases for patient appointments to communicate, manage knowledge, and mitigate error.

· Triage of patient phone calls and messages

· Contribute to continuous process improvement by taking an active role in patient experience and satisfaction.

· Qualification:

· Ability to work through interruptions, manage multiple priorities and handle a fast-paced physician practice environment

· Ownership, accountability, and follow-through is a must.

· Ability to learn new computer programs quickly.

· Experience as an emergency medical technician, medical assistant or in-person medical scribe using an electronic medical records system is a plus.

· Other applicants with an interest in pursuing a hands-on medical profession with a Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree as medical assistant or other medical field are also encouraged to apply.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
