The Department of State Hospitals-Atascadero is a secure public sector hospital providing inpatient forensic services for mentally ill adult males who are court committed throughout the State of California.

Under clinical supervision Medical Assistants provide basic medical support to patients with mental or physical disabilities, and to medically ill or infirm patients; and also perform basic administrative and clerical support, as well as other related work. Medical Assistants also work under assigned administrative supervision when working under clinical supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a valid certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California to practice as a Medical Assistant. The position(s) require(s) a(n) Medical Assistant Certificate. You will be required to provide a copy of your certificate prior to being hired.
You MUST include a copy of your valid certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California to practice as a Medical Assistant.
