Mechanical Engineer/Drafter - BSME, Solidworks, CAD
We are currently seeking a degreed, Mechanical Engineer to join an Alabama based industrial design and manufacturing firm in the north-west corner of the state, near Muscle Shoals/Russellville Alabama.

Please note - We have roles available for degreed, but junior/entry-level engineers, but we are also open to candidates that are mechanical draftsman, depending on relevant 3D design experience with/without a degree. Compensation will be commensurate with the experience, degree, all of what is brought to the table.

Primary responsibilities will be creating designs, layouts and detailed drawings for vehicle-related components and sub-assemblies while providing support to the production floor when implementing new designs. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (from conception) and bring them to a timely completion is also warranted.

This individual will participate in cross-functional design teams whose functions focus on:
  • Identifying cost reduction and cost savings opportunities, Problem solving to evaluate, specify and design solutions aimed at resolving issues and problems during product development and shop floor implementation , and Improving product reliability and performance.

Please note, we can take those with a more junior/entry level profile or a couple of years of experience.

We are ideally looking for someone with:
  • 4 year Mechanical Engineering degree is highly desired and a near must have. Specific direct 3d Design/ industry experience without the 4-year degree may be applicable, on a case by case basis.
- Solidworks and/or Inventor 3D experience is desired - Other 3D Cad design (Pro E, etc) would also be applicable.
  • Experience working within the automotive, or other vehicle design space is desired.
  • Any direct vehicle experience with structural components including sidewalls and roof design is a big plus.
  • Experience working within the automotive, or other vehicle design space is desired, but strong industrial mechanical design experience will also be considered.
  • We don't need an Engine Designer, but rather more of a Systems understanding when it comes to getting everything to fit together.
  • Specific experience developing new designs using structural analysis, and an ability to recognize and implement cost savings will be a plus.
