Job description
Job Summary
Repair and Maintain equipment for professionals, homeowners and store inventory. Keep good notes on condition found and work performed for each unit repaired. Keep the service area clean and presentable on a weekly basis.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for maintenance and repair of small engines, both gas and diesel and hydraulic equipment.
Responsible for sharpening all types of equipment used for yard work.
Operates all equipment used for yard work and is available to use this equipment and test when needed.
Performs preventative maintenance work, such as checking oil and fluid levels on all equipment.
Maintains inventory records on all repairs made, parts ordered, and parts inventory.
Keeps work area free from personal items and empties trash on a daily basis.
Weekly, or as needed, will take the lead on cleaning the service area including mopping.
Empty the shop of equipment to the store front for display and return the equipment to the shop at the end of each day.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
Two (2) years work experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of small engine equipment.
Special Requirements
- Must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License.
- Must be willing to work Weekends.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of outdoor power equipment, to include hydraulics, and small engines.
- Working knowledge of safety practices and procedures while making mechanical repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment with accuracy and speed, ability to create effective working relationships with employees: ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain written equipment maintenance records.

- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift
and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the
ability to adjust focus.

mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed

and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
