Job description
The Info Systems Engineering Leader job manages a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by managers that reviews multiple types and categories of technical architecture and operating systems for running end user applications. While influencing others to accept approved practices and approaches, and effectively communicating with executive leadership, this job has ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction for information systems. The Info Systems Engineering Leader oversees the design and architecture aspects and the implementation of technical solutions to ensure that the information systems are appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture.

- Develops organizational information systems strategies and goals for the business.
Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and development of team.
Directs complex architecture requirements analysis to convert end user needs into technical solutions.
Oversees system design and technology constraints in accordance with compliance requirements for information systems by the organizations.
Oversees the development of key capabilities and performance requirements when developing system architecture.
Manages and approves strategies and activities to deliver solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems and applications across the enterprise.
Applies insights to recommendations for enhanced business performance based on external market dynamics and makes recommendations to senior leadership.
Directs operations and maintains relationships with other information systems team leadership.
Communicates with department and senior leadership the importance of information systems in order to minimize risk, improve the performance and productivity of the organization.
Supervises and provides strategic direction for the development and maintenance of various technical architecture and operating systems.

Required Skills:
- 8+ years as a Solution Architect focused on designing and integrating enterprise class solutions, both custom build and off the shelf.
- A background as an engineer primarily experienced with Java and .Net.
- Experience working with Asset Management or Financial services industry and across various lines of business.
Preferred Skills:
- Currently a practising solution architect.
- A practicing user of AWS services, across both the application and data stack, having completed and deployed projects within the past 12 months.
- Experience Designing end to end solutions.
- Experience working with Senior stake holders.
- Specific experience using broad technology stack including: Java, .Net, React/Angular and a range of industrial off the shelf tools, and best practices implementations across the asset management industry
