The White River Unified District (WRUD), located in the beautiful and picturesque White River Valley of Vermont and is a member district of the White River Valley Supervisory Union (https://wrvsu.org). Our Elementary Campuses of South Royalton and Bethel serve PreK-5th grade students.
We are currently anticipating an opening for one licensed elementary math intervention teacher for the 2023-2024 school year at the Royalton Campus. The goal of White River Valley Supervisory Union (WRVSU) Mathematics Interventionist is to raise mathematics achievement levels of WRVSU students. WRVSU mathematics interventionists will have a deep understanding of PreK-5 mathematics and how elementary children learn mathematics. Interventionists will have a demonstrated ability to work effectively with individual and small groups of students who need targeted instruction or intense targeted intervention. Mathematics interventionists will collaborate with classroom teachers to analyze student data in order to identify students’ lagging skills and inform and align classroom and intervention instruction. WRVSU mathematics interventionists will work with classroom teachers and other WRVSU personnel to build a strong mathematics culture marked by excellence in mathematics instruction and student engagement in mathematics.
The White River Valley is approximately 25 minutes from Killington/Pico Ski Resort and 12 miles from Saskadena Six ski mountain. The White River flows through our district making canoeing and kayaking very convenient after work or on the weekends. Hiking trails are plentiful. Many say it is a great location to raise a family. Successful candidates should have:
A current Vermont Teacher certification in Elementary Education
Experience working with elementary students
Demonstrated ability to collaborate.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
A sense of humor and perspective.
A willingness to work hard and have fun.
