POSITION SUMMARY
Manages and administers materials management function including but not limited to planning, procurement, storage, inventory control, and distribution of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversees the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and/or shipping schedules.
- Develops policies and procedures to ensure timely flow of materials and for tracking the physical inventory.
- Reviews production schedules and determines material required or overdue and locates material; coordinates requisition of material with production department and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material.
- Arranges transportation of required materials with department supervisors for delivery; examines material delivered to the production departments; manage sizing, pallet patterns, designs, and required documentation for paper packaging
- Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages.
- Maintain records of supplies and materials including but not limited to SQF records, and Vendor Ratings
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- HS Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Two (2) years leadership experience
- Proficient with Microsoft office, including skills with Outlook, Word and Excel
- The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor and work well independently and within a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree in related field
- Inventory Management experience
- Bilingual
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk and reach above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift a minimum of forty (40) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts
- Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit
