Our plywood facility located in Emporia, VA has a vacancy for a Master Technician. This role is pivotal in supporting the Emporia Plywood Mill by working to help run the operation and maintenance for key areas in the plant. For this role, we are looking to start someone at$35.87 per hour with OT and benefits. There are 3 advancement opportunities within this single role that carries significant pay increases!
What You Will Do
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user system
- Performing on site diagnosis, analysis and resolution of problems for various end users
- Recommend and implement corrective software/hardware solutions
- Construct, test and install customized configurations on various operating systems and platforms
- Repair and/or replace defective equipment or parts using hand or equipment
- Complete and/or prepare documentation on instances of hardware repair, installation, failure and/or removal
- Evaluate and recommend hardware/software products for purchase and installation
- Overall responsibilities for the operation and maintenance of the new lathe, stacker, and all other associated equipment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 plus years electrical and mechanical experience
- Must possess industrial maintenance experience
- Possess basic computer skills
- PLC knowledge
- Ability to embrace the team concept - must work well with others; share the same vision
- Demonstrate operator ownership - hold yourself and others accountable
- Willingness to share knowledge and teach others.
- Ability to diagnose problems, exercise critical thinking skills to trouble-shoot an issue
- Good communication and listening skills
- Ability to work any shift and overtime
What Will Put You Ahead
- Working knowledge of all machine centers in the plywood operations
- MP2 experience
- Must be willing to embrace the 5S concepts
