The Sumner Main Street Association is searching for an individual to assist in our marketing and outreach efforts to grow membership and engagement within our community, as well as help with the coordination and logistics of Downtown events such as our annual Rhubarb Days & Vintage Marketing, Classy Chassis, and more.

Salary: $18-20/hr
Job Type: Part-Time, Temporary

Position Details:
· 16-20+ hours/week
· Flexible schedule; ability to work up to 50% of time remotely; must be available to work the weekend of June 24-25 (for Rhubarb Days), as well as August 6 (for Classy Chassis)
· 3-month temporary position; possibility of longer assignment based on budget/performance

Marketing & Event Specialist Responsibilities:
· Prepare event materials for distribution. (i.e. copying, filing, mailing, e-mailing), and assist with dissemination of event marketing collateral.
· Work directly with Sumner small businesses, event vendors and guests, and the greater community, to address event related questions and/or concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction and prompt problem resolution.
· Create and compile digital/social media content, developing high quality marketing materials with consistent branding and messaging.
· Develop newsletter content, including feature writing and photography.
· Worth with, and direct, volunteers to successful completion of tasks.
· Coordinate and represent the SMSA with local organizations and committees, including the City, service organizations, local businesses, and the Sumner community.

Experience & Qualifications:
· Experience in sales, events, marketing, demos, brand promotion and/or customer service.
· Knowledge of running social media marketing campaigns, and performing website updates.
· Friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing demeanor. Excellent communication skills.
· Excellent time management and dependability: show up on time for all events.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
· High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience required. College students and veterans are encouraged to apply (the possibility of arranging role as a paid internship would be considered).

Other Requirements:
· Must have valid WA state driver’s license, and be 21 years old for insurance purposes (for events that involve the coordination of a beer garden).
· Must be able to assist in the set-up, and tear down, of event displays and booths; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must follow company and event safety requirements.

The Sumner Main Street Association (SMSA) is a non-profit organization with the mission of revitalizing Sumner’s historic downtown district. SMSA is a Washington Main Street Affiliate Member and uses the National Main Street Program’s Four-Point Approach to guide its historic downtown revitalization. The Main Street Four-Point Approach is a comprehensive community-based approach to community revitalization using each of the following four points: Design, Economic Vitality, Promotion, and Outreach. These four points guide our organizational structure and annual work plans.
