SHE-CAN is seeking a full-time Marketing Coordinator to join our growing team in the San Francisco Bay Area. Your primary responsibilities will be writing and creating marketing materials, keeping our website up-to-date, managing all social media posts, and supporting our Marketing Manager with events and other marketing projects. This position reports to the Marketing Manager.
SHE-CAN (Supporting Her Education Changes A Nation) is a global non-profit organization that builds female global leadership in post-conflict countries. We help passionate young leaders win scholarships to U.S. colleges and universities, provide them with leadership training, and pair them with U.S. mentor teams who help them thrive in college and launch change-agent careers at home. To date, we have helped 103 young women from Rwanda, Cambodia, Liberia, and Guatemala win $27M+ in full scholarships at top U.S. colleges. You will be part of a growing and dynamic team that will produce some of the world's next great female leaders and change agents.
Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the Develop of all Marketing Materials: Includes e-mail newsletters, program fliers, event invitations, fundraising appeals and gala event materials. Includes writing initial drafts and revising with the leadership team and managing a graphic designer who creates the materials.
- Lead Social Media: Plan and create all social media postings including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Includes creating and posting engaging content, posting scholars’ submissions, and continuously improving our strategy by analyzing social data/metrics, insights, and best practices.
- Provide Support on Events: Support the Marketing Manager in executing our annual gala and other fundraisers and community events.
- Spearhead Blog Program: Manage our blog program by working closely with scholars to schedule, develop and edit their personal stories on topics including leadership development, internships and college life.
- Manage Website Updates: Maintain and update the organization’s website with new photos, news articles, event announcements, press releases, newsletters, etc.
- Spearhead Photography: Capture photos at SHE-CAN community events and maintain organization of all images in the filing system.
- Manage Intern: If needed, identify and manage an intern to assist with the responsibilities of the job.
Ideal Candidate:
Required:
- Amazing writer and editor with a passion for storytelling
- Resourceful, organized, excellent attention to detail self-starter who thrives in a fast paced environment
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Dropbox, and Google Drive
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a similar field
- 1-3 years professional experience
- Familiarity with Salesforce (or an equivalent CRM) and Mailchimp
- Experience in design management and has proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or a willingness to learn
- Previous photography experience
Compensation:
- This is a 40-hour a week salaried position, Monday-Friday 9:30-5:30.
- As a global organization with evening and weekend events, you will need to occasionally be accessible outside these stated hours.
- Our team works in our Mill Valley office Tuesday-Thursday and remotely Monday & Friday. During busy periods (Gala season, before community events, etc.), you will need to come into the office Monday-Friday.
- Candidates must live in the San Francisco Bay Area within a reasonable commute time of our office.
- The compensation for this role is $62,400-$68,400 annually. It also includes 15 days of annual PTO and a monthly $200 healthcare reimbursement.
- Our organization requires employees to be up to date on COVID vaccinations and boosters.
