Marketing and Communications Specialist

The Thrasher Group, Inc. is currently seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our team in either our Bridgeport, WV or Charleston, WV location. The ideal candidate for this position will support a robust team of marketing professionals with tasks that range from technical writing and the development of digital content to event preparation and internal communications efforts. The Marketing and Communications Specialist for Thrasher will be someone who enjoys all facets of a broadscale marketing career – whether it’s being part of public speaking engagements, developing content to brand the firm, or working autonomously to develop contact lists and client data, the role is one that is full of opportunity and growth.

Thrasher is a full-service architecture, engineering, and field services consulting firm with a rich resume of project success all throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Our team of skilled experts delivers a vast array of professional services to clients across five major markets: architecture, land development, water resources, transportation, and energy. The Marketing and Communications Specialist will collaborate not only with Thrasher’s Marketing team, but with a wide variety of technical professionals to create content, execute events, and assist with marketing efforts to meet overall company goals.

Essential Functions:

• Assist with creation of a wide variety of marketing and communications content, including, but not limited to, press releases, website content, and social media posts
• Identify and develop relationships with media contacts across Thrasher’s geographic footprint
• Assist with client communications as needed, including writing, posting, and creating graphics
• Gather materials and coordinate delivery and return of materials for events, assisting with physical set up of materials for internal events, conferences, and tradeshows as necessary
• Attend events as needed to take photos, create content from event, be a greeter at company tradeshow booths, etc.
• Prepare and disperse the internal newsletter on a monthly basis
• Perform light editing and quality control on a host of written content
• Assist with the development of technical project descriptions with internal stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Public Relations
• 3-5+ years of experience in a marketing role preferred
• Experience with Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustration) preferred
• Ability for occasional travel within the Mid-Atlantic region
• Work from Bridgeport, WV or Charleston, WV

• Team player with the ability to work independently
• Strong ability to write and edit copy
• Ability to handle stressful situations and manage deadlines
• Comfort with public speaking and presentations
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks

• 8 hour shift
