SUMMARY
The mission of the United States Air Force (AF) is to fly, fight, and win in air, space, and cyberspace domains. The AF Civil Engineer (AF/A4C) aims to effectively optimize resource allocation and Civil Engineering (CE) programs while modernizing and recapitalizing installation infrastructure, protecting installation from mission degradation, and executing sustainment programs. The ideal candidate will enable AF/A4C leadership to communicate strategic messages and the AF’s agenda across the CE enterprise and to communicate the diverse mission impact of Air Force Civil Engineers to internal and external audiences by using social media and data analytics.
***This position requires an active Secret level clearance to be considered. ***
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop scripts, speeches, articles, and digital correspondence to enable AF/A4C leadership to communicate strategic messages
  • Provide detailed data analysis updates to leadership and stakeholders by participating in, and when AF/ A4C is the lead, facilitating, meetings/forums, working groups, committees, panels/sub-panels, boards, and coordinating, consolidating, developing and delivering or presenting associated meeting materials (e.g. slides, after action reports, minutes).
  • Coordinate, develop, maintain, and execute an AF/A4C Strategic Communications Plans focused on increasing stakeholder and strategic partner awareness of AF/A4C outreach and initiatives
  • Coordinate and collaborate with AF/A4C POCs, to develop, execute and deliver virtual messages in a variety of electronic formats to the CE enterprise and end customers.
  • Support varied and complex deliverables for the Strategic Communication Team by using social media and other platforms to push out content
  • Understand the digital marketplace and build outreach plans to reach target audience

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years experience
  • Air Force or DoD experience highly desired
  • 2 years Social media experience
  • 2 years Creative vision for strategic marketing campaigns
  • Data analytics, market research and data collection
  • Knowledge of Air Force Civil Engineer mission areas desired
  • Experience with Microsoft office programs, Rational Clearguest, Rational ClearCase, CMMi Level 3

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to operate in a demanding & fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize effectively to ensure on-time delivery of products
  • A desire to take on responsibility and operate with little oversight
  • Excellent collaboration skills, a solution-based attitude, and the ability to work with people with diverse skills and backgrounds
  • Ability to build and manage strong relationships with a diverse array of clients
  • Ability to comfortably interact with senior level government and contractor personnel on an as needed basis
  • Outstanding interaction skills, tact, and team building skills
  • Ability to successfully pass drug screening and a federal background check is required
  • SECRET clearance is required
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen
  • Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate. However it’s important to note that Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently not subject to enforcement by the Federal government. Therefore, Cherokee Federal has suspended application of the mandate and continues to monitor the government’s guidance on administration of any vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The majority of work is technical in nature and conducted in a climate-controlled office environment or home office environment
  • Must be local to the DC, MD, VA National Capitol Region
  • Combination of on-site support and telework
