First Service Residential is seeking a Market President, Minnesota to lead all First Service Residential business efforts in the Minnesota Market, including both property management and Gittleman Construction and Maintenance. The Market President will have responsibility of managing the full profit and loss and annual budget with the intent of growing EBITDA year-over-year. The Position

The Market President, Minnesota will lead all First Service Residential business efforts in the Minnesota Market, including both property management and Gittleman Construction and Maintenance. The Market President will have responsibility of managing the full profit and loss and annual budget with the intent of growing EBITDA year-over-year. The State is poised for exponential growth over the next three years. Exceptional service excellence, operational effectiveness and robust management is paramount to realize the potential of the market. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Senior Leadership team, Board of Directors and the property owners they serve, in addition to FirstService Residential departments (cross-functionally) such as Marketing/Business Development, IT, HR, Legal and Finance to ensure the business is appropriately managed and supported in this market.

The Minnesota Market manages over 500 properties, is a top 10 market across the company and is in the top 5 in terms of client retention and associate experience. The Minnesota Market employs over 500 associates in the Property Management business and an additional 60 people in the Gittleman Construction and Maintenance business. Top line revenue is $67 million, with $47 million attributed to the property management business and the remaining $20 million attributed to the construction and maintenance business.

The Market President, Minnesota will report to the President, MidWest (Asa Sherwood), and will lead a team of three Operations Leaders, the Gittleman Construction and Maintenance Leader, and will partner with the Market Business Development Lead, the Market Human Resources Lead, the Market Finance Lead and a MidWest Information Technology Director, as well as the Corporate Information Technology Team. The Market Team is dedicated to the Minnesota Market, however report solid line to their respective corporate functional leaders.

The President MidWest is accountable for the Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois and Kansas Markets and reports to the President, Canada & Midwest USA.

Position Requirements

  • A minimum of a post-secondary undergraduate degree is required.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of successful corporate management and executive leadership experience along with responsibility for operations with revenues of over $50 million. (Business Acumen Competency)
  • Must have proven experience in the development of and performance management of highly successful teams, with at least 5-8 direct reports for 10 or more years of career tenure. (Team Leadership Competency)
