Manufacturing Process Engineer - Stamping Capacity Planning Engineer
Job description
The Stamping Capacity Planning Engineer works independently with occasional guidance from supervision. In this position, you will be responsible for working with your team members and stamping facility leadership to optimize and balance stamping volume across our facilities, prepare and lead stamping reallocations for press equipment maintenance projects, support plants in obtaining the tools to execute reallocations, and conduct special business case or capacity studies as needed. You will be responsible for working with plant personnel to address capacity issues that may arise.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate sheet metal stamping allocations for each facility.
- Monitor and balance stamping capacity utilization across multiple facilities.
- Develop capacity and allocation plans in support of press projects.
- Lead coordination of reallocations or factory assists for press projects or catastrophic equipment failures.
- Assist in the coordination of press project timing based on volume and capacity availability.
- Work cross-functionally with plant personnel, press project team, and container teams to optimize stamping supply chain.
- Collaborate to continuously improve standards aligned with the Bill of Equipment (BoE), Bill of Operations (BoO), Bill of Containers (BoC), and Bill of Facilities (BoF).
- Participate in stamping plant continuous improvement activities as required.
This position is based in Warren, MI. However, regular engagement and execution of site-specific activities will require travel to assigned stamping facilities within North America, including Mexico and Canada, throughout the year. Travel to support such activity is typically less than 25%.
Typical day in the role
- Assigned 3-4 plants to monitor the stamping utilization
- Working on moving work from broken down machines to another part of the plant
- Planning for press projects
- Coordinate between plants for die movement
- Facilitating work
- Work with press center and stamping plant
- Cost analysis: business case, where to ship work to, etc.
Degrees:
- Bachelors preferred
Years of experience:
- Min 2-5
- Willing to looking at someone with 5 experience and no degree
Experience with:
- MS excel and PPT efficient
- Presenting
- Stamping and/or die knowledge
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
