$80,000 to $100,000 per year depending on experience

DESCRIPTION of the Manufacturing Facilities Supervisor

Lead the Facilities Management area, using internal and external service providers and contractors. Oversee maintenance for the building, utilities (electricity, water, steam, air, HVAC), capital investment coordination, any construction, real estate, and external services. In addition, this position works in coordination with the Maintenance Manager to always cover facilities and maintenance, so previous experience in maintenance management is strongly preferred. This role has responsibility for direct reports, contracted employees, contractors, and interns.

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Manufacturing Facilities Supervisor

  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the facilities activities to provide the best customer experience for employees in the building
  • Supervise boiler techs, mechanics, and general facilities staff to ensure that the quality of water/steam is adequate and confirm the appropriate design of the water and electricity lines, maintaining a strong focus on sustainability.
  • Ensure a safe & compliant physical environment for essential employees
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local municipal laws, regulations, rules, directives, and best practices
  • Maintain operating budget and partner closely with Finance and Maintenance to ensure good control of resources
  • Manage key service providers relationships to ensure high quality deliverables
  • Cultivates strong working relationships within the team and with other key stakeholders
  • Work with US Workplace Solutions on strategy and direction for Facilities activities in the Site, establishing policies, procedures, and standards for effective and efficient operation
  • Provide direct reports with leadership, direction and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance skills
  • Immediately communicates all operational and/or safety issues to Supervisor to avoid accidents and unnecessary downtime.
  • Proactively addresses issues that may adversely affect start-up, cause downtime, or could result in an accident.
  • Adheres to all operations procedures and maintains a safe working environment
  • Conducts and oversees daily equipment inspections to ensure proper functionality as prescribed by the PSM.
  • Provides regulatory and preventive maintenance of machinery to improve and sustain efficient, operations
  • Conducts PMs as prescribed, writes work orders, and works closely with crib and supplies attendants to ensure completion of work
  • Follows communication protocols on equipment conditions
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with fellow team members and other departments
  • Attends trainings as required
  • Daily oversight of the operation and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration system.
  • Daily oversight of the operation and maintenance of Steam system and boilers.
  • Daily oversight of the operation and maintenance of the HVAC systems
  • Daily inspections performed in accordance with all internal and external standards, regulations, and audits (e.g., ammonia systems, pressure vessels, PSM, RMP, etc.)
  • 120/230/480 Electrical experience.
  • General building maintenance.
  • CMMS data entry. Ensure materials are being issued to work orders.
  • Provides feedback to the maintenance and management teams identifying trends, potential issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Performs any other job-related duties requested by the leadership team

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION of the Manufacturing Facilities Supervisor

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in facility management, maintenance or site operations
  • Participation in engineering and Capital Investment projects
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, engineering standards, management systems (ISO 9001 or related), OSHA, FDA, USDA and EPA related regulations
  • Experience with maintenance programs and management of work equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams and deliver results through others
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience dealing with local regulatory authorities
  • Ammonia Refrigeration Training preferred
  • Ciro (Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator) preferred
  • Caro (Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator) preferred
  • IIAR (International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration) preferred
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Daily operation and maintenance of Ammonia refrigeration system
  • Must be able to work with precision assemblies and knows how to use mechanical measurement tools
  • Good organizational skills and an ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously required
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work within cross-functional teams
  • Must exhibit professionalism and maturity and display desire to succeed, be self-motivated and proactive required
  • Flexibility to work on weekends and overtime

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
