At CSMC (Cold Section Module Center) we make complex Nickel and Titanium jet engine parts for Geared Turbo Fan and F135 engine programs as well as legacy F119 and F100 engines.

Manufacturing Engineers work on developing and maintaining the processes and equipment to produce these parts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role will drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple process steps that spans the full value stream of the parts.
  • Provide focused & effective leadership in the advancement of maturity/readiness levels (MRL) elements to drive manufacturing risk identification and mitigation to achieve superior quality performance.
  • Identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes and reduce overall product costs.
  • Use statistical analysis tools to perform Root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming product.
  • Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities through maturity/readiness levels (MRL) tools such as Value Stream Mapping and Process Flow Diagram, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Yield & Cost curves, and Qualification plan.
  • The discipline and follow-through to fully document problem statements, observations, conclusions, calculations and recommendations.
  • Work with senior management: Support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize and scope projects to business objectives, integrated with other continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead significant projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or in absence of a degree, HS Diploma with 12 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts.

PREFERRED QUALFICATIONS:

  • Mechanical Engineering Experience
  • Experience in Project Leadership with demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities and leading initiatives within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in statistics, data analytics, design of experiments (DOE), and multivariate statistics using Minitab or other statistical software.
  • Continuous improvement certificates/training such as 6 Sigma Practitioner/Professional certification, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Lean manufacturing, etc. Project Management Certification
