Our Alabama River Cellulose mill in Perdue Hill, AL is seeking qualified professionals to for a Manufacturing Engineer (Powerhouse) opportunity. This position will provide the necessary technical support to optimize the operation by working with operators, shift supervisors and the leadership team to improve efficiency and lower operating cost within the Powerhouse.
Our Team
This position is part of the Powerhouse Team and reports to the Area Manager – Power & Recovery.
What You Will Do
- Facilitate a culture of safety and environmental excellence through critical hazard identification, risk reduction, and risk mitigation
- Provide leadership, guidance and expert advice on technical, systems or process-related topics to create and implement superior operations performance including key performance indicators (KPI)
- Provide operational/business leadership and technical support for the manufacturing process of the area and facilitate troubleshooting and problem solving to achieve goals
- Lead teams in the identification, development, evaluation and implementation of safety, quality and/or cost reduction initiatives and projects that add the highest value to the operation to drive continuous improvement
- Utilize framework to analyze information and evaluate alternatives to choose the best solution for short and long-term value creation
- Optimize and coordinate planning for scheduled shutdowns, operator training, and maintenance and capital projects
- Provide leadership to Develop Work systems for sustaining activities within the process
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience working in a utilities department
- Experience in developing and implementing improvement processes and projects
- Experience with databases and data analysis
What Will Put You Ahead
- Leadership experience in power and recovery
- Kraft process chemical recovery operations experience
- Experience working in a Process Safety Management (PSM) covered facility
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience
- Process/Automated controls experience
