Essex Industries, Huntington Beach is a growing aerospace / medical manufacturer. Essex provides tight tolerance CNC components, assembly, and testing services. Essex is currently on a strong growth path. We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the technical aspects of growth.

This role will split between New Business and Sustaining Activities.

• Develop Manufacturing Routings showing operations steps in a manner that addresses part conformance and are easily understood by operators.
• Document Manufacturing Steps with visual (photo and video) work instructions that improve quality and reduce operator learning curves.
• Design test fixtures and tooling as needed to support manufacturing steps
• As part of our MRB team, you will determine root causes of failures using data analysis and problem-solving tools to recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
• Assist Quality in improving inspection templates to assure consistency and conformance.
• Evaluate manufactured products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Train production personnel in new or existing methods.
• Recommend Tooling, Coatings, Toolpaths, strategies, CapEx, Etc. in order to increase output and individual part quality.

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering OR 7+ years of experience as a CNC or CMM Programmer in Lieu of a Degree.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of GD&T
• Compliance with ITAR regulations requires a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Experience designing tooling & Fixtures in Solidworks, as well as creating Manufacturing Drawings
• Ability to translate complex manufacturing steps into operator-friendly routing instructions
• Experience with InforLN or any ERP systems is a plus
• Experience with MasterCAM & Solidworks PDM is a plus
• Good working knowledge of 5-Axis CNC machining, Multi-Axis turning & Poka-Yoke Assembly Design a big plus.
• ASQ certification is a plus
