We are seeking a Managing Director to join the leadership team of the Bishop Arts Theatre in Dallas, TX. As the Managing Director, you will be entrusted with managing the day-to-day operations and overseeing a talented team of professionals. You will provide exceptional customer service, seeking opportunities to engage positively with patrons while ensuring the financial success of the theatre. Additionally, you will be responsible for setting long-term strategies and planning, creating effective marketing plans and overseeing the financial management of the theatre. 1. People Management

• Manage, coach, train and supervise all non-production staff and teaching artists
• Ensure that BATC employment policies and employee handbook are current and complete and support the organization’s staffing goals and needs
• Oversee recruiting, training, coaching, and retention of staff
• Host weekly staff meetings
• Provide support with employee-related issues, as well as any health and safety protocols (including COVID-19)
• Facilitate the timely execution of all agreements

2. Shared Executive Leadership

• With the Executive Artistic Director to implement the policies and procedures set forth by the board of directors with an emphasis on fundraising, organizational structure, marketing and operations in support of the company’s Mission and Vision

3. Fundraising

• Create and manage annual giving campaigns for North Texas Giving Day and end of year campaign
• Oversee communications with donors, patrons, and community partners which relates to fundraising or institutional advancement, ensuring mission-aligned practices are being used in stewarding our patrons
• Oversee the CRM database and ensure that best practices are being used in recording and analyzing data

4. External Relations

• Serve as a key representative of BATC (in partnership with the board and leadership team) locally and nationally, including cultivation of donors, funding institutions, and government agencies
• Represent BATC in communications with external agencies that have the power to govern or influence financial or administrative demands within our organization
• Provide additional support for and attend meetings, conferences, fundraisers, events, celebrations, special artistic events for networking purposes

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business or theatre management)
• Minimum of five years of relevant management experience in theatre or arts
• Successful track record in theatre production, general and/or project management
• Knowledge of creative contractual agreements
• Sound understanding of theatre finance and operations
• Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety protocol and its practical application in theatre
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with excellent administrative skills and ability to prioritize a complex workload
• Ability to be flexible with working hours to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays depending on current work-load and theater schedule
