Your Responsibilities


As a Manager Strategic Credit Canada for John Deere Financial, you will manage the credit acceptance process and portfolio quality for large, strategic customers for all markets (Ag, Turf, Golf, Construction, Forestry and Multi-Use) across Canada. Transactions are generally larger, more complex and frequently require negotiation and structuring. This position is a key member of the Credit Management team that supports both the strategic and tactical planning and policy development for the Canadian business unit. Regarded as the leading subject matter expert for their market and process.


  • Manages the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the acceptance and processing of credit transactions. Transactions are generally larger, more complex and frequently require structuring.
  • Ensures application of established guidelines and lending practices for adherence to company policy on loan authorizations and required documentation to protect the quality and profitability of portfolio(s).

What Skills You Need


  • 5 or more years of strong credit evaluation experience with advanced credit analysis.
  • Experience in a leadership role leading a team.
  • Knowledge of legal and compliance issues governing a process or set of processes.
  • Knowledge of market(s) distribution channels and customers.
  • Knowledge of operational systems, accounting and process improvement methodologies.
  • Participates in approving or rejecting the most complex or sizable loans where difficult questions of policy or credit risk may be involved.
  • Experience in developing business relationships with dealers/merchants.
  • Experience developing business relationships with large and extra-large customers across Canada.
  • Experience managing departmental budgets and administering personnel matters within staff area.

  • Experience presenting to credit committees.
  • Knowledge of John Deere dealer base.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Education


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • University Degree in Business, Management, Accounting, or Finance or 15 or more years of equivalent experience in lieu of a University Degree.
