WHAT YOU’LL DO
We are looking for a candidate who is willing to both lead and be led as we work towards our collective
2030 vision
in Hawai‘i. This role will contribute to a variety of core workstreams detailed below in responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a team player who is willing to contribute to the collective team’s vision, able to work across multiple workstreams, skilled at building relationships with others, and energized by engagement with our corps members and alumni. .
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  • Local (25%) – source and support local prospects, support local community members to engage in selection, plan and facilitate ‘āina-based, culturally responsive programming during the summer and school year, and strengthen local community partnerships
  • Summer Training or External Network (25-30%) – pending candidate experience, interest, and strength, this role will either contribute to the summer training team or the external network team. The summer training team is charged to plan and execute a rigorous and meaningful summer learning experience for incoming corps members. The external network team is charged to identify, cultivate & steward external stakeholders to ensure our program is supported by a sustainable funding base of deeply committed diverse stakeholders.
  • Alumni Network (20%) – contribute to the alumni network team, which is charged to support alumni leadership and strengthen the alumni network, with a prioritized focus on school and system leadership.
  • CM Program (10%) – all members of the alumni network team will contribute 10% of time to working with the CM program team to collaborate and support school partnerships and a small portfolio of corps members
  • Projects (15-20%) – all Hawai‘I team members will contribute time to cross-team projects and all staff expectations, including selection of corps member or ignite fellows and facilitating and engaging in all staff learning experiences
A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Over the course of any week, the Manager, Regional Team Initiatives will spend time across a variety of workstreams. Each day will look different. Some days, you may spend at university campuses recruiting new prospects to join Ignite and the corps; other days you may be at school campuses meeting with school principals, and observing corps members; other days, you might spend behind a computer developing summer curriculum and/or developing plans for an upcoming alumni leadership gathering.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):
  • At least 5 years of related work experience
  • Experience setting vision and leading and managing teams of people to outcomes
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills
  • Strong orientation to partnerships; ability to build and cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders and invest and mobilize groups of constituents
  • Track record of getting results while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to work occasional weekend or evening work hours
  • Ability to be in person for meetings in Hawai‘i at least quarterly during the school year and weekly during summer practicum (5 weeks, summer 2023 and 2024) (out of state travel expenses not covered)
  • Baseline knowledge of Hawai‘i histories, culture, and context
BONUS (preferred qualifications)
  • Experience working in Hawai‘i’s public education system
  • Relationships with Teach For America Hawai‘i alumni
YOUR COMPENSATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Tier B: $69400 - $100200
