Aspen is looking for an engaging, motivated, and inspirational Quality Manager to drive Aspen’s quality culture forward in Aspen’s automotive business. The Quality Manager will report to the Director of Quality. This individual will be responsible for driving functional excellence in Aspen’s Aerogel manufacturing business by providing technical and hands on support to the East Providence team. The Manager and Quality team will lead / support activities related to ensuring conformance to customer requirements, internal business practices, regulatory requirements, and existing or desired certifications. The right individual will be an on-the floor leader who establishes efficient, frequent, and collaborative communication with Operations, Process Engineering, Supply Chain, R&D, and EHS to facilitate collaboration on cross functional initiatives that improve product quality or maintain product quality while reducing cost through work process, unit operation, operating conditions or process technology improvements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Champion a culture of quality by engaging, leading and influencing key stakeholders at the East Providence manufacturing facility.
- Manage, plan, implement and support quality programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards.
- Lead or support root cause investigation of nonconformities and develop, initiate or implement corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and ensure that the Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, regulatory/legal, and certifying organization requirements.
- Manage, lead and mentor the quality personnel.
- Maintain documentation and records of Quality department functions.
- Lead and support quality activities including PPAP, FMEA, SPC, Gage R&R, Supplier Qualification, Calibration systems and Corrective & Preventative Actions in our automotive assembly lines.
- Audit and track supplier quality performance.
- Oversee layered audit procedure and process.
- Prepare and present monthly technical, program and operational quality reports as needed
- Record and track the measurement of key quality metrics indicative of performance.
- Manage the Quality department budget.
- Author and review relevant SOPs, validation, and other documents.
- Effectively host client or certification agency audits and provide on time response to audit findings as well as facilitate completion of corrective actions noted.
- Perform employee training on QMS and ISO requirements.
- Mentor/train/develop and manage the Quality team.
- Execute Aspen’s performance management system, by setting performance goals and objectives as well as performing employee performance reviews.

- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in quality, engineering and reliability roles in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering, math, business, or science discipline is required, Master's Degree is preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite of applications
- Proficiency with statistical tools such as Minitab or JMP
- Six Sigma training and certification highly desirable
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
- History of working in a manufacturing operations environment.
- Experience in Tier 1 Automotive envirinment
- Ability and willingness to lead, manage and do work.
- Innate intellectual curiosity.

- Well-developed influencing skills – ability to inspire confidence and drive consensus.
- Ability to handle complex matters across multiple initiatives.
- Intellectual agility to deal effectively with strategic issues and operational details.
