Job description
Develops, implements and manages member, patient and provider content, advocacy and operational program communications to help achieve business goals, regulatory compliance, and to support individual business unit needs. Contributes to overall success of the Marketing team with strategic thinking, content creation, and project management. Maintains strong relationships internally and externally including outside vendors and agency partners. Leads projects independently as needed, and partners with senior leadership and other colleagues when appropriate. Works under general direction.
Responsibilities
- Develops and creates communication and engagement strategies for patients, caregivers, health plan members and providers. Creates communication plans, implements tactics, and analyzes results for specified program goals or initiatives as appropriate in support of VNS Health Professional Solutions products and other VNS Health entities including the Health Plans, Management Services Organization (MSO) and Care Management Organization (CMO).
- Serves as the engagement and communications lead for VNS Health Health Plans member and provider portals, which includes developing education and awareness programs.
- Designs and implements operational program communications to engage patients and health plan members in programs and services; works on projects directly and in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Manages the development, review and production of communication and engagement tactics such as member, patient and provider content, advocacy, engagement campaigns, operational program materials, and other communications. This includes writing marketing briefs, copy development and design, collaborating and review with key stakeholders and legal.
- Acts as “operational center” for assigned areas, providing support as needed, such as meeting preparation (setting agendas, organizing materials) and finance-related aspects (developing budget, reviewing scopes of work, opening purchase orders, managing budgets, invoicing).
- Collaborates closely with Professional Solutions stakeholders, Product Strategy and Management and lines of business leads
- Ensures patient and member communications are developed accurately in accordance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA compliance and CMS. Stays current on communication and marketing policies.
- Maintains up-to-date understanding of the health care industry including key customers and competitor organizations. Keeps informed about significant regulatory changes impacting VNS Health business operations or financial position.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree Communications, Marketing or equivalent required
Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in developing and implementing content and operational communications, direct marketing, brand marketing, communications and other relevant experience required
Experience in developing and managing successful patient and health plan member program and engagement materials and campaigns (email marketing, social media, web content or other channels) required
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and strong project management skills required
Intermediate to advanced capabilities using PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. required
Demonstrated understanding of both healthcare professionals and consumer audiences and their related content behaviors and preferences. Experience marketing to health plan members, patients, health care professionals and/or health care payers (health plans) preferred
