We’re looking for an amazing Manager Global HESS to fill this role, which is based in our Seattle office. You’ll be responsible for the development, management, and improvement of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS), known as Global HESS (GHESS), for Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Seabourn, and P&O Australia. This role is an intermediary between all departments within the Company, Carnival Corporation, and the other Operating Lines, responsible for the approved publications and revisions of all policies, procedures, and related attachments, as well as overseeing the other modules of the system and the enhancements to it.

Here’s a summary of what Holland America Line is looking for in its Manager Global HESS. Is this you?

Responsibilities

  • Publication of new and revised policies, procedures, and related attachments to the GHESS system.
  • Coordinate and implement both minor and major enhancements to the system, along with the Corporate and IT teams.
  • Manage the Suggestions and Self-Reported Non-Conformities modules for HAGroup.
  • Troubleshoot onboard and shoreside problems.
  • Provide analysis on multiple modules throughout the system on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Oversee the Task module and update as necessary.
  • Assist, as needed with the Audits and Investigations programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Regulatory Affairs, Maritime Science, Marine Operations, Marine Environmental Science or equivalent experience
  • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Training highly desirable
  • 5 years of project/program management experience
  • 5 years of maritime experience
  • Prior management or supervisor experience preferred, but not required
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in the development, delivery, maintenance, and enhancement of complex programs
  • Advanced computer skills for Microsoft Office package, training programs and audit programs
  • Experience collaborating with other teams both internal and external, such as corporate teams, sister companies, and teams within the company
  • Ability to travel as needed to facilitate the program both onboard and shoreside

  • Base Salary Range: $84,100.00 to $113,600.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
