What you will be doing:
Leads and directs the Volvo NA Commercial Product Structure Team in the creation, publishing, and maintenance of all product-related sales information to ensure a profitable, high quality, customer-focused product portfolio for user selection in both the Volvo and Mack NA dealer sales tools. Manages cross functional requirements/inputs to the product portfolio from Engineering, Sales & Marketing for both Brands, Manufacturing, Aftermarket, and any other organizations providing New Truck sales product offering to our Dealers.
As a Group Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of 6 skilled, technical individuals on the overall product offer documentation process in the Dealer New Truck Sales tool for the Volvo and Mack Commercial organizations that helps drive a high quality, product offering database.
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to constantly improve the Market Block introduction process.
- Create and develop reports and applications in Excel, MS-Access, PowerBI and/or other software as required to support the product structure data checking process.
- Lead your team in supporting the New River Valley factory (i.e., NRV) and Lehigh Valley factory (i.e., LVO) Sales Engineering and Customer Engineering organizations in their daily order processing and order-board management activities.
- Facilitate the documentation and sales of Customer Adaptations (i.e., CA’s) in ProBuilder (e.g. the product offering database) in cooperation with Customer Engineering and Sales Engineering, that help obtain new customers for the brand.
- Implement product offerings related to sales, leasing, or other incentive programs in a timely manner that supports both the Volvo and Mack Commercial organizations sales objectives.
- Identify and Request Truck Sales, Financial, Manufacturing, and/or Aftermarket System changes from Group IT as needed based on any product offering data changes affecting any downstream system data keys. This includes a Dealer Sales application named PAWS which stands for, Performance And Weights System.
- Work closely with Group IT and other global organizations to continuously improve the New Truck Sales process
- Representing the Product Structure function in local and global meetings
- Willing to take on one’s own projects to further learn
- Willing to self-develop as a potential, future leader of leaders
- Willing to initiate people engaging activities
Who Are You?
You will hold a BS/BA Engineering, Computer Science, and/or equivalent experience in relevant subject area required. You will also bring 7-10 or more years of experience with truck/automotive/wheels or related industry including in depth knowledge of trucking industry. 1-3 years of supervisory positions or demonstrated proof of leadership abilities in some other environment required (professional or community related activity). For example, successful completion of the Emerging Leaders program, project management, youth sport coach, etc.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of Volvo Engineering’s KOLA Variant and Restriction logic system and/or working knowledge of another OEM’s Product Data Management system logic
- Knowledge of vehicle products and/or demonstrates high mechanical aptitude
- Prior working knowledge of Volvo’s ProBuilder and/or working with the factory orderboard is helpful. For example, an Engineer responsible for components requiring KAX table maintenance that help keep new truck orders correct.
- In-depth knowledge of MS-Office EXCEL
- Strong written and oral presentation skills
