Located in the iconic Rockefeller Center, NARO's cuisine will be rooted in Korean cuisine, 'Hansik.' Through NARO, we hope to tell the story of Korean cuisine currently underrepresented overseas. Featuring multi-course tasting menus as well as a la carte options, NARO will focus on more subtle delicate flavors that are vegetable-forward, highlighting traditional techniques with seasonal ingredients.

NARO, which was recently awarded a 3-star rating by the New York Times, is seeking an experienced and committed Maitre'd to become a part of our team. As the Maitre'd at NARO, you will collaborate with the NARO team to establish a solid base for our reservation system and oversee the management of current reservations.

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual, with a strong work ethic, and an endless curiosity to learn and grow with our restaurant. This position reports to the NARO Assistant General Manager and NARO General Manager. For this position, we are offering $20 to $25 an hour.

Maitre'd responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Be available to answer phone calls during service hours.
• Capable of being the lead at the host stand, managing guests, utilizing waitlists, contacting the notify list whenever possible, and providing warm hospitality to guests as they wait for their tables.
• Communicating table needs to ensure a smooth service and that all reservations are seated in a timely manner.
• Greeting guests with sincerity and seating guests with graciousness.
• Manage reservations, before and during service - making sure that the team is prepared and ready for the upcoming days.

• Having an intimate knowledge of all allergens in our food and beverage offerings, and working with the kitchen as a liaison for our guests to accommodate their dietary needs whenever possible.
• Working together with Guest Relations Manager to handle and manage guest opportunities, and solve problems as necessary.
• Having a strong working knowledge of Resy. Working with our Guest Relations Manager to optimize reservations, adjust floor plans, reach out to guests as necessary, and maintain detailed notes for our guests, etc.
• Building rapport with guests, greeting guests, marking guest preferences, and ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of all those that dine with us.

Qualified Maitre'd candidates must be energetic, enthusiastic, and have a great attitude, as well as:

• At least 2 years of fine dining service experience (preferably in a lead host or maitre d’ role)
• Must be able to demonstrate an extensive depth of organizational skills.
• Previous experience with Resy is beneficial, but not required
• Knowledge and/or experience with Korean food & beverage is a plus but not required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25lbs if necessary
• Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
• Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant
