We offer competitive starting pay with increases after 6 months and 12 months of employment, with good performance. Shift differential for working 2nd and 3rd shifts. Benefits eligibility as of the 31st day of employment.

What you will do
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe and proper operation and maintenance of all company machinery, utilities, and facilities. Maintenance and upkeep of a variety of equipment including sheeter equipment, rewinders, guillotine, forklifts, clamp trucks, etc. The employee in this position must be able to work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with both production and office personnel.

  • Ensure equipment is operating properly and safely.
  • Ensure maintenance issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the day-to-day safety of all employees and safety controls.
  • Maintain and update CMMS software.
  • Provide technical support for all phases of equipment and system validation.
  • Reviews electrical drawings associated with new equipment procurement.
  • Assist Engineering with the development of project specifications for new equipment.
  • Act as a technical liaison to contractor personnel who are performing activities onsite.
  • Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts by operating mechanical equipment.
  • Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment based on preventative maintenance routes/check sheets/frequencies.
  • Attend and apply training provided by the Company, both job and department specific
  • Hold self and others to a high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, safe driving practices, appropriate PPE, etc.)
  • Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate the root cause.
  • Maintain a clean working environment by complying with procedures and housekeeping responsibilities, and properly disposing of waste.
  • Operate, maintain, and inspect equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, procedural reporting, and safety requirements.

What you will need
To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
  • Minimum 2 years continuous full-time work experience (required)
  • 2-year degree, Journeyman status, or 5+ years of experience in a maintenance capacity.
  • Able to speak and understand English required.
  • Able to perform and understand basic mathematical calculations and use a micrometer.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Understanding of general operating flow and basic material handling concepts preferred.
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability required.
  • Mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills required.
  • Able to interpret machining programs, tool layouts, encoded instructions, and blueprints as necessary to operate machines.
  • Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, and avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards.
  • Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for an entire 8-hour shift.
  • Able to lift, up to 40 lbs. frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs. occasionally, and over 50 lbs. minimally. When lifting 50 lbs. and above, Operator will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.
  • Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.
  • Able to wear and comply with all personal protective equipment (Eye and ear protection, steel-toed shoes, etc.)
  • Able to work an 8-hour shift. Able to work overtime as needed including weekends and Holidays.
