Mendocino-Lake Community College District is currently accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Supervisor. This is a full-time Classified Administrator position. Under the direction of the appropriate supervisor, organizes, coordinates, and supervises the work of the maintenance, operations, groundskeeping, and security personnel at all District locations. In addition to supervising, works alongside direct reports in completing tasks.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary Range is $64,080 - $74,180 annually. There are four annual step movements; initial placement will be at step 1, unless approved by the Superintendent/President. Please see the current salary schedule here.
Benefits: With no monthly premium contribution from the employee, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes family medical, dental, vision, EAP benefits and employee life insurance. Additional voluntary life insurance is available for employee purchase. Benefits are effective the first of the month following hire date.
Holidays and Paid Time Off: The successful candidate will earn twelve (21) days of vacation and twelve (12) days of sick leave per year. Vacation leave increases with the length of service. There are twenty (20) paid holidays annually.
Retirement: This position is eligible for CalPERS Retirement.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
The successful candidate will support student and institutional success by executing the following duties:
Works with the department director to plan, coordinate, organize, and monitor all maintenance, operations, groundskeeping, and security activities, standards, and requirements.
Supervises maintenance, groundskeeping, and security personnel.
Provides staff supervision including selection, training, coordination of tasks, developing work schedules, assignment of priorities, resolving problems, conducting performance evaluations, and coordinating any disciplinary matters.
Performs maintenance, groundskeeping, and security tasks as necessary.
Responds to emergency maintenance, facility, security, and grounds calls or contacts staff members to respond.
Directs set-ups, teardowns, and clean-up of events, activities, and athletic functions.
Coordinates district-wide moves of furniture and/or office locations.
Reviews legislation, code, policies, and procedures related to areas of responsibility; apprises others of pending or needed changes to current practice; recommends the development of or revision to related policies and practices.
Supervises the purchase, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment related to areas of responsibility. Including bid requirements, coordinating outside contractors and vendors.
Develops and implements standards for all campus facilities and grounds to ensure they are maintained in a clean, safe and attractive manner; periodically conducts inspections to ensure they are maintained in conformance with District standards and applicable codes.
Oversees the work order system, preparing cost estimates on required maintenance work; the scheduling of campus activities and facilities; and the building keying system for campus buildings and facilities.
Develops and implements preventative maintenance programs to properly maintain buildings, grounds, plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, including energy management and solar technology.
Supervises a District vehicle use and maintenance program; ensures vehicle safety in accordance with State regulations.
Oversees the scheduling of campus activities and facilities.
Oversees the building keying system of all campus buildings and facilities.
Assists with the development and monitoring of budgets related to areas of responsibility.
Attends meetings, serves on committees, and attends job related training as directed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor and outdoor environment; drives college vehicles; subject to adverse weather conditions; may work weekends; exposure to paint fumes and noise from equipment operation; hazards from working with electricity, ladders, scaffolding, welding, and equipment with moving parts.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL STANDARDS:

- Mobility: frequent walking and standing; occasional reaching above and below waist height; frequent balancing on varied surfaces. Occasional climbing and pushing
- Dexterity: frequent fine manipulation sufficient to operate a computer keyboard; frequent grasping to handle hand tools, write/take notes, feel individual objects, and operate heavy equipment
- Lifting: frequent lifting of equipment and material weighing up to 75 pounds
- Visual Requirements: frequent use of vision sufficient to read files, documents, and computer screens and do close-up work
- Hearing/Talking: frequent hearing and speaking in person and on the telephone
- Emotional/Psychological Factors: frequent need to make decisions and concentrate; frequent contact with others; frequent deadlines and time-limited assignments
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED QUALIFCATIONS:
- A valid California driver's license.
- A California "B" contractor license, or a journeyman level/certification or equivalent in one of the following required: electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, staff and faculty.
- Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check and completion of TB test.
Associates Degree

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT(Prior to beginning employment)
