About the role

We are looking for a motivated Planner – Maintenance & Reliability focused on increasing plant reliability and workforce productivity through quality work planning following world class asset management processes and safe work practices.

This role is a great opportunity to join a successful, dynamic, and experienced team. Reporting to the Superintendent – Maintenance & Reliability, you are responsible for:

• Creating practical maintenance plans by identifying all required materials and skilled personnel and providing accurate work completion estimates.
• Improving productivity of people, equipment, and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles to efficient work execution.
• Identifying and implementing safety requirements in work planning.
• Providing key performance indicator (KPI) data capturing maintenance performance.
• Recommending system and design changes to improve processes.
• Leading follow-up meetings capturing lessons learned from the workforce and implement improvements in plant procedures.
• Providing leadership in team building, planning, and establishing clear measures that keep everyone focused on safety, results, and the customer.
• Ensuring work is completed in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and soliciting inputs from team members.

About you

To succeed in this role, requirements are:

• High School with degree qualification preferred
• Previous maintenance planning and scheduling experience is mandatory.
• 5+ years of experience in maintenance or operations in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge and execution of asset management strategies and best practices
• Experience in planning, tracking, and completing projects.
• Experience in inventory control and best practices.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• SAP experience or similar ERP system.
• Use of Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Must have or the ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Previous exposure to a union environment.
• Highly detail oriented.
• Mechanical or electrical engineering degree; or equivalent experience.
