About the role
We are looking for a motivated Planner – Maintenance & Reliability focused on increasing plant reliability and workforce productivity through quality work planning following world class asset management processes and safe work practices.
This role is a great opportunity to join a successful, dynamic, and experienced team. Reporting to the Superintendent – Maintenance & Reliability, you are responsible for:
- Creating practical maintenance plans by identifying all required materials and skilled personnel and providing accurate work completion estimates.
- Improving productivity of people, equipment, and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles to efficient work execution.
- Identifying and implementing safety requirements in work planning.
- Providing key performance indicator (KPI) data capturing maintenance performance.
- Recommending system and design changes to improve processes.
- Leading follow-up meetings capturing lessons learned from the workforce and implement improvements in plant procedures.
- Providing leadership in team building, planning, and establishing clear measures that keep everyone focused on safety, results, and the customer.
- Ensuring work is completed in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and soliciting inputs from team members.
About you
To succeed in this role, requirements are:
- High School with degree qualification preferred
- Previous maintenance planning and scheduling experience is mandatory.
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance or operations in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge and execution of asset management strategies and best practices
- Experience in planning, tracking, and completing projects.
- Experience in inventory control and best practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- SAP experience or similar ERP system.
- Use of Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Must have or the ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Previous exposure to a union environment.
- Highly detail oriented.
- Mechanical or electrical engineering degree; or equivalent experience.
